With a degree in Zoology and a research degree in Psychology, Lucy trained in HR and worked as a Human Resources Director in several sectors and latterly as an independent consultant and management coach for organisations including the College of Medicine.
Now specialising as an Animal Healer, Lucy is Healing Trust trained and has over 25 years experience, first gained in a walk in Healing Centre in Pinner, where she later led a team of five healers. Many patients came from cancer treatments at nearby Mount Vernon Cancer Centre where she volunteered both at the hospice for 14 years and later as a charity Trustee. Clients at the healing centre were often seeking help for symptom control from chemo and radiotherapy. Experience she now uses with animal cancer patients.
She was invited by the hospice to carry out a healing study with end stage cancer patients, completed in 2001. As a result healing was introduced to the hospital which evidenced significant improvements in patients’ anxiety, pain and insomnia scores.
2017 saw Lucy complete a diploma in Canine Communication (behavioural), to complement her 8 years of healing as a volunteer at the Dogs Trust. Indeed she is the Healing Trust’s Animal Healing Champion and regularly supports animals who have issues such as anxiety, depression, joint issues or who need post operative or chemotherapy, symptom support.
